Joe Gacy hits back at the idea that he is a “poor man’s Bray Wyatt.” Ever since arriving in WWE, Joe Gacy has had comparisons to the Bray Wyatt character. Over time, he has carved his own path but he’s still not fond of the occasional comparisons.
In the time since Joe Gacy found his own family as the leader of “Schism,” Bray Wyatt has returned to WWE and Joe Gacy was even used a red herring in the White Rabbit project leading up to Bray Wyatt’s return at WWE Extreme Rules.
Joe Gacy Is Not Fond Of Bray Wyatt Comparisons
Reacting to a fan calling him a poor man’s Bray Wyatt on Twitter, Joe Gacy was quick to point out the comparison as unoriginal.

Joe Gacy Believes He’s Different From Bray Wyatt
In the past, Joe Gacy has discussed the comparisons to Bray Wyatt in more depth. In 2022, he told Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful he was doing what he could to differentiate himself from Bray Wyatt.
“For me, it’s completely something else. I would say that, what I’m doing, it’s always been there for me, I just have never had platform like this to display it. I tried to go about it one way before I came to WWE and, very quickly, you have to introduce yourself and explain yourself while also having matches in other areas. Coming to WWE, weekly, you have the opportunity to introduce yourself a little bit at a time every Tuesday night. For me, it’s always been there and always been in here [points to head], it’s just coming out slowly,” he said.
One thing go case you will always be linked to is the debut of Simone Johnson who will be competing under the name “Ava Raine.” Raine is getting her start in WWE as a member of Schism and in character, she says she’s found her home with Gacy.
Next for Gacy, he will participate in the inaugural Iron Survival Challenge at NXT Deadline on December 10. Learn more here.
