Although Jimmy Smith may no longer be calling the action on Monday Night Raw, he already has a new job offer on the table.
On October 6th it was announced that WWE were going to be making significant changes to it’s announce teams across Monday Night Raw, Friday Night SmackDown and NXT.
The changes will see the return of two-person commentary teams, while former personalities will also be returning.
On Raw, Corey Graves will be joined at the announce desk by Kevin Patrick who had been working as a backstage interviewer and host of Raw Talk. Mike Rome will serve as ring announcer, Byron Saxton will pick up Patrick’s role, while Cathy Kelly also returns.
Michael Cole remains on SmackDown and will be partnered by Wade Barrett. The rest of the team on the blue brand remains unchanged.
In NXT, Vic Joseph and a returning Booker T will call the action from the announce desk, Alicia Taylor will ring announce and McKenzie Mitchell will be on hand for backstage interviews.
This means that there is now no place for Jimmy Smith on Raw, and it has since been confirmed that he has left WWE. However, that doesn’t mean that he is short on new and slightly surreal offers.
In the hours after his departure was confirmed, adult website CamSoda revealed they have offered Smith the chance to call action of a very different kind. The adult webcam site have offered the announcer a one-year-deal worth up to $500,000, to call the action “in detail” as webcam models undress to “heighten the experience for the viewer.”
You can find the full offer below.
Dear. Mr. Jimmy Smith,
I’m sad to see your time with the WWE as an announcer has come to an end. However, I see an opportunity to work together in a similar capacity. I’d like to extend you a contract offer to commentate on private adult webcam sessions for CamSoda, an adult entertainment webcam platform, for one year.
You’d provide the play-by-play for the steamy action happening on camera, as well as live events the company runs throughout the year including ‘Car Wars’ and beer pong. In return for your role as an announcer, I’d be willing to compensate you up to $500,000.
Please take some time to consider my offer. I look forward to your response.
Jimmy Smith had been with WWE since May 2021 when he replaced Adan Virk has lead play-by-play announcer on Monday Night Raw.
