Jim Ross Has No Heat With Former WWE Champion: “He Knows I Love Him”

Jim Ross Admits He Was Not A Fan Of WWE Attitude Era Angle

Jim Ross says he has no bad blood with a former WWE World Heavyweight Champion.

Ross made headlines after announcing last month that he was diagnosed with colon cancer and would require surgery. In the lead-up to the surgical procedure, many fans and professionals wished the wrestling legend well.

Later, the former WWE commentator announced that he had undergone surgery successfully, which was celebrated by many. However, Ric Flair had a different response, he said that JR was “seeking attention, but later clarified he was only joking.

Their relationship was brought up on an episode of the Grilling JR podcast. The AEW commentator noted that Flair called him when he was diagnosed, but he hadn’t “spoken to him at length” since then. The commentator also denied any truth regarding animosity between him and The Nature Boy, sharing that he was honored to have called some of Ric Flair’s greatest matches.

[If there’s any animosity between him and Ric Flair] No, not at all. I don’t know where that came from. People just want to dig up sh*t and gossip and things of that nature. But no, I have no agenda, negative or positive, with Ric. He knows I love him. He knows I respect him. I called some of his greatest matches, which I feel honored to do. So no, he and I are fine, as far as I’m concerned.”

Jim Ross Wishes Ric Flair A Speedy Recovery After Cancer Diagnosis

Unfortunately, it wasn’t just Jim Ross who was diagnosed with cancer lately, but also Ric Flair. The Nature Boy previously announced that he was diagnosed with skin cancer, the second time in three years. Many fans and professionals wished him a quick recovery, including the AEW commentator.

In the same podcast, the legendary commentator added that he had a lot of respect for Ric Flair and hoped The Nature Boy got healthy soon, since he played a big part in the professional wrestling business.

“I have great respect for Ric for what he’s accomplished and all those things. So, no issues at all, Conrad, quite frankly. I just hope he gets healthy and feels good, and pro wrestling needs Ric Flair. He’s a big part of the fabric of our business. And I just hope that if he has a skin cancer that it is addressed and controlled.”
