WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross has discussed a possible WrestleMania showdown for The Rock that wouldn’t see him go one-on-one with Roman Reigns.
For months now the rumoured main event for WrestleMania 39 would see Roman Reigns take on his cousin The Rock in a match for the ages. With WrestleMania “going Hollywood” in Los Angeles one more time, many see this as the perfect stage for wrestler-turned-movie-star The Rock to take his final bow in a WWE ring.
Speaking on his Grilling JR podcast, the man who signed The Rock to his first WWE contract – Jim Ross – discussed another option for The Great One at WrestleMania that would still keep it in the family:
“Here’s the thing, I could see Rock having a mixed tag with his daughter at WrestleMania, I can see that. Now, there will be naysayers that will knock that idea, which is fine, that’s expected. But that’s a safe [option], it’s a way to get him on TV, get his name and her name and image in the promotion.”
The Rock’s daughter Simone is currently part of the NXT 2.0 roster where she competes as Ava Raine, although she has yet to compete in her first official match in the company.
