AEW Commentator Jim Ross has named The Steiner Brothers amongst his greatest brother tag team of all time, stating that no list would be complete without them.
While tag team wrestling has been a staple of the sport for as long as there has been professional wrestling, few teams in the history of the business have gelled as well as those crafted from the same bloodline.
Exceptions such as The Brain Busters, The Fabulous Freebirds and The Road Warriors exist but when looking back on some of the greatest double acts in the industry it’s the sibling teams that often stand above all else.
Now, Jim Ross has taken to his Grilling JR podcast in order to name The Steiner Brothers as one of the all-time greatest brother combos alongside several other teams who have stood the test of time:
“They’re [The Steiner Brothers] on the list of greatest teams, it’s hard to say. I’m partial to the Briscos [Jerry and Jack], my Oklahoma brethren, my fellow Native Americans. We’re missing Owen and Bret [Hart] – can’t have a list of brothers without mentioning Owen and Bret, I don’t think. There are a lot of really good brother tag teams. There would be no list that is complete or realistic or believable without the Steiners.”
Former WCW United States Tag Team Champions, seven-time NWA/WCW World Tag Team Champions, NWA Mid-Atlantic Tag Team Champions, two-time IWGP Tag Team Champions and two-time WWF Tag Team Champions to name only a few, The Steiner Brothers are a strong contender for the greatest tag team of all time.
