Jim Ross has responded to comments made by Tommy Dreamer regarding the Brawl Out aftermath.
Following the infamous events that took place at the press conference and in the locker room after AEW All Out, the future of CM Punk in All Elite Wrestling has been questioned by many. While some would welcome the former AEW World Champion back into the company, several top stars have reportedly told the locker room they would make sure that a return does not happen.
Jim Ross Has Been Discussed On How He Could Reconcile CM Punk And The Elite
One AEW employee with experience in dealing with wrestling conflicts is Jim Ross, who served as head of talent relations for a number of years while employed with WWE.
During an episode of Busted Open Radio, one listener would call in and ask host Tommy Dreamer if Ross could be used to lead to The Elite and Punk settling their differences. Dreamer would respond to the question by stating that it would not work due to JR’s age.
Speaking on the Grilling JR podcast, Jim Ross has responded to the comments made by Dreamer, outlining how absurd the statements made by the host were:
And somebody called in [on Busted Open Radio] and said, Should Tony Khan use JR to help get a reconciliation from CM Punk and The Bucks etc. And Tommy Dreamer said it wouldn’t ever work because JR is from a different generation, which happens to be one of the most ridiculous things I’ve ever heard Tommy saying. I like Tommy, I’ve hired Tommy, he’s a lifer. So I’m not mad at Tommy, I’m just shocked that he would say something so ridiculous. Human nature doesn’t have a generational timeline, it just doesn’t.
JR would continue to say that the age difference is not a factor when it comes to working out differences, along with the importance of communicating:
Management is management. Communication is communication. I probably talked more about communication in the term communication on this podcast than anybody in your ad free network. Communication is a key to marriage, dating, business. You got to communicate. And so it kind of bothered me that I thought, oh, that won’t [work] cause I’m older. It’s not. That my generation wouldn’t understand how to address those issues, which I totally say bullshi*t to. So but that’s off topic. But nonetheless, it’s just where I feel, a spot in my head.
In the same episode, Jim Ross would have high praise for how a former broadcasting colleague had positive effects on his own announcing career.
