Jim Ross has shared some good news with the fans.
The AEW announcer has been dealing with several health issues over the past few years and has taken on a reduced schedule to aid the healing process. Providing an update on his Grilling JR podcast, Ross noted that although he has had a wound as a result of cancer treatments for over a year, the wound is healing:
“My health has improved immensely. I got my nurse who comes by twice a week, checks my vitals, dresses my wound. Can you believe that that wound, which was a result of 22 radiation treatments for skin cancer, is still being nursed over a year [later]? The good news is that it’s healing. It’s shrinking, and that’s important for me. I’d like to get the bandages off and move on, but I’ve adjusted well. It’s just the way it is. I’m not gonna bitch and moan about poor me. That don’t heal nothing, and nobody wants to hear that sh*t. I don’t. So things are good,”
When Will Jim Ross Be Back On TV?
Ross previously noted that he would be making fewer appearances moving forward as airline travel was delaying the healing process. Shortly after signing his new contract, Jim Ross also revealed that he would be predominantly used for pay-per-views moving forward with the occasional appearance on TV. Referencing his next AEW appearance, Ross confirmed that he would be at Worlds End on December 28th and would call the final 2 matches:
“I’m gonna be at the next AEW pay-per-view, it’s gonna be emanating from Orlando later this month. I think that’ll be my next assignment. Tony’s been putting me in the two main events, the last two matches of the pay-per-view. So hopefully that’ll continue. I figure it will. I haven’t heard anything differently. But that’s a nice trip for me. That’s a car trip, and no airplanes,”
Previously on his podcast, Jim Ross admitted that one WWE segment was a “waste of time.”
