Legendary commentator Jim Ross has pledged to lend his iconic vocals to Brodie Lee Jr’s first title match.
Jim Ross, who was speaking on his Grilling JR podcast, noted how the AEW locker room had taken to the young Dark Order member, now known as -1 (or Negative One):
His little boy, Brodie, has become quite the beloved figure back in the locker room. Everybody loves the little fart, his dad’s eyes and his eyes are the same.
The Oklahoma native went on to reveal a deal he had made with -1 at a recent Jacksonville Jaguars game:
He’s a cute little kid and I was with him Sunday at the [Jacksonville Jaguars] game. I made him a deal that when he wrestles for his first title, I will announce the match. I wanted to make him happy and he thought that was the coolest deal, so fairly his dad had said nice things about me and the little boy remembered it.
Whilst a title match may be some years away yet, it has been reported that Lee Jr has been signed to an AEW contract, the details of which were recently disclosed by the late Brodie Lee’s wife, Amanda Huber.
The son of The Exalted One was featured on this week’s edition of AEW Dark, confronting the similarly statured Marko Stunt prior to a pull-apart brawl between the two:
-1 Brodie Lee Jr & @realmarkostunt finally meet.

AEW President Tony Khan, who along with Cody Rhodes was tasked with keeping the duelling pair apart, noted that Lee Jr had written his promo by himself:
Brodie wrote that promo himself. I asked him what he wanted to say about Marko, and he said all of that off the top of his head, it was incredible, I told him to please please go out and do that. -1 is really something.
