Jim Ross is anticipating an unexpected result at WrestleMania 41.
No stranger to WWE’s biggest show of the year, the legendary announcer has called the action at many iterations of the event and has been personally requested by many talents to provide the soundtrack to their own Mania moment.
Set to close the show in Las Vegas will be Undisputed Champion Cody Rhodes putting the title on the line against John Cena. If Cena wins, he will capture his 17th World Championship and break the company record. In the lead up to the show, Cena has promised to win another championship, erase the legacy of Ric Flair and retire as champion.
As Cena has turned heel and could have The Rock in his corner for the big match, the Hollywood star is the odds-on favourite to close out Mania as champion. However, when asked about the match on his Grilling JR podcast, the AEW announcer predicted that it would be Rhodes’s night for the second year in a row:
“My smart money will be on Cody. I think Cena will scare the hell out of us about winning the title again, but I don’t think it’ll happen. I think they’ll have a great match. Those guys have great style. I’m a big fan of both of their work.”
“I don’t see a title change. I see Cody retaining the title and having a hell of a match. Cody’s a talented kid. He’s had a great run. There’s no reason to end it now, in my opinion.”
Jim Ross Elaborates On John Cena Heel Turn
Elimination Chamber 2025 saw the unthinkable happen as Cena turned heel for the first time in 2 decades and attacked Cody Rhodes before later siding with The Rock and Travis Scott. With many fans having the same view about one aspect of the John Cena heel turn, Jim Ross issued a response.
