Jim Ross would love to see a legendary tag team reunite in AEW for one more run.
One of the most popular teams during their time in WWE, Edge and Christian won the Tag Team Championships 7 times and helped to revolutionise the industry thanks to their work with The Hardys and The Dudleys in ladder and TLC matches, most famously the iconic TLC 2 match at WrestleMania 17.
With Edge electing to not re-sign with WWE in 2023, the Hall of Famer later made his sock debut at AEW WrestleDream under his real name Adam Copeland. Although Copeland looked to reunite with Christian Cage in the promotion so they could both ride off into the sunset on their own terms, Cage had different plans as he famously told his former best friend “Go f*ck yourself.”
What followed was a feud over the TNT Championship that ultimately saw Copeland emerge victorious over his former friend and rival. At the time of writing, Copeland remains on injury hiatus after suffering a fractured tibia at Double or Nothing. When Copeland returns, Ross is hoping that at some point down the road E & C can patch up their differences.
Discussing the duo on his Grilling JR podcast, Ross was asked if there was a chance that Cage and Copeland could get back on the same page again:
“Yeah, there’s always a chance. I would be for it because I know their natural chemistry is amazing. I’ve seen them at their best, and tags at this stage of their career, not a bad idea. If you want to put some spark and some sizzle your tag team division, that ain’t a bad way to start,”
When Does Jim Ross’s AEW Contract Expire?
At the start of the year, Ross revealed that he signed a new deal with AEW which will see him predominantly work pay-per-views and the occasional TV taping. Also on his podcast, Jim Ross revealed when the current AEW deal will be up for renewal.
