Jim Ross is remaining optimistic that one member of the AEW roster will get the send-off they deserve.
At the start of the year, Jeff Jarrett made the announcement that he had signed his final contract with AEW and looked to end his in-ring career on a high with one more World Championship run. While Jarrett was unable to emerge victorious in the Casino Gauntlet match on January 8th, Double J is still determined to win the top title one more time and has the fans firmly behind him.
With fellow Hall of Famer Sting given a final run fitting of his legendary career in 2024, many are hoping that Jarrett will also end his career on a high, including JR. Speaking on his Grilling JR podcast, Ross praised Jarrett and hoped that the veteran would go out in style:
“If this is his last contract, I hope he goes out with a bang. He keeps reinventing himself, that’s a good thing for pro wrestling. He’s an established guy. He still can work. So, we’ll see how that articulates down the field, as [Hank Stram] would say.”
On a previous episode of Dynamite, it was revealed when Jeff Jarrett’s new contract will end.
Jim Ross Praises WWE Star
Prior to joining AEW in 2019, Ross had a lengthy career in WWE which also included numerous backstage roles on top of announcing weekly TV and pay-per-views. When speaking about one WWE star who recently signed a new deal, Jim Ross stated he was a huge fan and was delighted by the news.
In other news, a former WWE star admitted they have mixed feelings over a major accolade.
