Jim Ross Hates To See Wrestlers Do This: “It’s So Weak”

AEW's Jim Ross Demands WWE Firing Over Raw Kayfabe Leak

Jim Ross wants wrestlers to stop wearing jewelry in the ring.

Professional wrestling is always a physical and dangerous endeavor, and wearing jewelry in the ring adds further chance of injury. Jordynne Grace found this out firsthand when she ripped her ear on a May episode of TNA IMPACT. The next month, Jordynne Grace’s earring was fully ripped out of her ear when she faced Roxanne Perez at Battleground, leading the star to joke that her earrings were retired from in-ring action.

Speaking on the latest edition of Grilling JR, AEW broadcaster Jim Ross questioned why wrestlers would wear jewelry in the ring, saying:

“Why the hell are the wrestlers wearing jewelry when they’re fighting? That’s all companies, whether it be necklaces or earrings or bracelets or whatever the hell it may be. I know I’m old school. You can get out in my fu**ing yard anytime now, but golly. It’s so weak. I don’t think any wrestler should ever wear any jewelry when they’re wrestling. I just don’t get it. I don’t understand it.”

Jim Ross Wants Those In Charge To Intervene

Continuing, Jim Ross suggested that those in charge should tell talent to take their jewelry off before stepping inside the squared circle for everyone’s safety.

“Somebody just has to say, ‘No, you can’t wear your sh*t. Put it up, and then when you get through wrestling, you can put it back on.’ It’s just not good. It’s just not good at all.”

Elsewhere on the podcast, Jim Ross had high praise for a former AEW TBS Champion.

In a new interview, Jim Ross stated that an AEW booking decision was a mistake.
