Legendary commentator Jim Ross says that despite the pain, he’s still fighting through adversity.
WWE Hall of Famer and AEW commentator Jim Ross has worked in the wrestling industry for decades. His contributions have garnered respect from fans and those within the industry. Through will and expertise, JR has called some of the greatest moments in pro wrestling, even has his body wears down with age. Now, the legendary commentator has given a health update regarding his battle with skin cancer.
On the latest episode of the “Grilling JR” podcast, JR revealed that while he’s in a lot of pain and can barely move, he’s still keeping to his MO of fighting through adversity:
Yeah, I can’t, walking, standing on my feet for an extended length of time Paul is very challenging. Something that’s simplistic. So I’m I have to be careful and be smart not to be bumping into these wounds you know this I gotta keep this thing covered up and padded up so that I don’t inadvertently bump into something on that wound, which is the kiss of death.”
“You know I my sheets wake me up. My sheets lying on this wound when I don’t have it covered is not good. So but you know, this is, we fight through things like that. And that’s always been my, my mantra or my MO You fight through it. And that’s what I’m doing here today with this situation.
JR made the switch from WWE to call matches for AEW. He recently called the main event match at AEW x NJPW: Forbidden Door. Despite his age and the wear and tear, JR continues to be a prominent voice in the world of pro wrestling.
