Jim Ross Admits Announcing Career Nearing End

Jim Ross is contemplating the end of his illustrious career.

Despite recently securing a new contract with the company, signalling his continued dedication to the art of wrestling broadcasting, Jim Ross has hinted at the possibility of this year marking the conclusion of his tenure as an AEW commentator. During an episode of his podcast, Grilling JR, Ross candidly expressed his belief that the current year may signify his final chapter as a commentator, citing his age and personal health as significant factors in this decision. Ross conveyed:

It’s realistic to think that (this will be last year in commentary). I’m 72 years old, I feel good, I get healthier every day, which is great, but I have to think realistically this could be my last year and more than likely will.

Adding to the uncertainty surrounding his future, Ross disclosed that his ongoing situation is subject to further deliberation, with his continuation as a commentator hinging on discussions with AEW President Tony Khan. Given his extensive experience as a former WWE Executive Vice President of Talent Relations, Ross’s wealth of knowledge and expertise presents invaluable assets for contributing behind the scenes.
