Jim Ross was not the biggest fan of a dangerous spot at a recent AEW show.
Priding itself as being an alternative to WWE from day one, All Elite Wrestling has regularly pushed the boundaries of what should and shouldn’t feature on a mainstream wrestling promotion.
At the most recent pay-per-view Full Gear, Will Ospreay faced off against former best friend Kyle Fletcher after Fletcher recently betrayed Ospreay and sided with Don Callis.
Although many believed that Ospreay vs. Fletcher was the match of the night, the spot that had everyone talking was the jumping Tombstone Piledriver from the apron to the steel steps.

Ross, who was at the show, saw the spot take place while in the back. Speaking about the dangerous move on his Grilling JR podcast, the AEW announcer admitted that he expected there to be injuries after all was said and done at Full Gear:
“It was scary. I’d rather err on the side of [caution]. I go back to my head of talent relations days. The worst thing that can happen is a main event type player getting injured on a show that would require him, or her, to miss time. And that only adds to the medical bills on your budget, which is neither here nor there, that’s not the biggest deal, but it takes somebody away from your booking. You can’t use them anymore until they’re healthy…
But that scared the s**t out of me boy. It really did. That spot scared the hell out of me. I thought ‘There’s no way that both these dudes are going to walk away from this okay.’ But they did. I guess that’s the thing about youth, Connie [that] you and I can’t really relate to. These guys are young and resilient.”
Jim Ross Sceptical Over Recent AEW Angle
Despite the fact that he is a member of the announce team, Ross still offers up his opinion on some of the creative decisions made by Tony Khan. In regards to one piece of AEW booking, Jim Ross believes the promotion made a mistake.
