Jim Ross has confirmed that he will be at AEW Grand Slam and will be “doing more than normal.”
Due to health issues, the legendary announcer has predominantly appeared for PPV events in 2024, generally calling the final matches of the night. However, with the upcoming Grand Slam special at Arthur Ashe Stadium being presented as the biggest episodes of Dynamite and Collision all year, the Hall of Famer will be a part of the show.
Speaking on his Grilling JR podcast, Ross stated that he will be at the unique setting for Grand Slam:
“I was told yesterday I’m doing the Arthur Ashe event, which will always be fun. It’s a unique setting, unique surroundings, so I’m looking forward to that. Loaded card as you can see there, a lot of talent on this card.”
While it is unknown how often fans will see and hear JR at the Dynamite and Collision taping, the announcer stated that he will be more involved than at previous events and also confirmed he would be at WrestleDream on October 12th:
“So I’ll be going to New York for that show. I’m not sure how much I’m doing, but I think I’m doing more than normal. Then I’m going to go to Seattle and call the pay-per-view. I think my schedule is getting more aggressive and I’m being used more, but I’m excited for it.”
Jim Ross Comments On Recent Wrestling Beef
Recently, Hall of Famer Kevin Nash and WWE star Logan Paul had an expletive exchange of words online which started when Nash stated that Paul was not “One of the boys.” Speaking about the spat, Jim Ross questioned if it was necessary to go public.
