Legendary wrestling manager and promoter Jim Cornette has praised the microphone ability of one particular WWE on-screen figure – Paul Heyman!
Jim Cornette, a jack of all trades in wrestling, is known for having what could be described as controversial views on wrestling. Sometimes, though, the famed manager can come out with some exceptional viewpoints, as he has with his comments on Paul Heyman.
The ex-ECW promoter was recently involved in a segment that saw him and Brock Lesnar come face-to-face, hyping up the latter’s impending Undisputed WWE Universal Championship encounter opposite Roman Reigns. Cornette has praised Paul Heyman for the way he handled both Lesnar and the crowd.
Talking on a recent edition of Jim Cornette’s Drive-Thru, Cornette described Heyman as possessing pro wrestling’s “most talented mouth”:
“Have you noticed, they cannot ‘what’ Paul Heyman, if he doesn’t want to be ‘whated’ [sic] because he is so good, he doesn’t have to pause, he doesn’t take a break, he doesn’t use a period. He keeps going with no natural break for them to jump in and do that until finally, they’ve decided to just take the ride with him and listen to what he says. He’s impervious there. He has the most talented mouth that has ever been in wrestling.”
Having won numerous awards for his managing and promoting skills, Jim Cornette is heralded as one of the greatest wrestling managers. Pro Wrestling Illustrated, the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, and the Baltimore Sun are among the media outlets who’ve touted Cornette’s success in just about every field.
In more recent years, Jim Cornette has been associated with MLW, IMPACT Wrestling, and the NWA, last appearing for WWE to induct The Rock’n’Roll Express into the 2017 WWE Hall of Fame class.
