Jim Cornette has claimed that Finn Balor shouldn’t be leading Judgment Day and should instead be replaced by a fellow star.
At WrestleMania 38 Edge was helped to victory over AJ Styles by Damian Priest. On the following episode of Monday Night Raw the WWE Hall of Famer explained the union between the pair, naming them The Judgment Day.
Rhea Ripley joined the group at WrestleMania Backlash, before they were joined by Finn Balor. However, upon joining the group Balor attacked Edge with the help of his partners to assume control of the group. Although the former NXT Champion has emerged as the de facto leader, this has never been set in stone.
In more recent weeks the group have been joined by Dominik Mysterio who turned on his father Rey at Clash At The Castle.
Speaking during a recent episode of his Jim Cornette Experience podcast, the legendary manager reflected on the direction of the group. Cornette began by commenting that he wished Edge was still in charge and calling the shots.
“When Finn Balor starts talking, or the fact that he’s the smallest one there when he’s the veteran and filling the leader position, apparently, I gotta wish Edge was still in there,”
Cornette explained that Balor should be replaced by Damian Priest, who has a greater presence due to his physical stature.
“They got the fu*king whole reason for their group pulled away from them and in his [Edge] spot somebody [Finn Balor] that’s half Ripley’s size and has been used as a – excellent technical in-ring wrestler and not a good promo – flunkey that everybody beat forever. Priest, by his presence, is technically still the leader, but he’s not ready to be a leader in people’s eyes because they didn’t go through the process,”
