Jim Cornette has given some major props to a recent John Cena segment.
WWE celebrated the 20th anniversary of John Cena’s debut last Monday on RAW. The celebration included clips from wrestlers like Chris Jericho, Big Show, Bryan Danielson, and more, giving praise to the leader of the Cenation. Although the celebrations are over, one legendary figure in the industry thinks WWE should get more credit for portraying Cena as a megastar last Monday.
On the latest episode of his podcast, Jim Cornette praised WWE’s tribute to Cena. He pointed to all the highlights of Cena’s career and his contributions inside and outside the ring.
“They had comments from the stars from Shawn Michaels and Big Show, he was on WWE television more this week than he was on AEW. Big Show, Booker T, Bryan Danielson, they called him Daniel Bryan, Triple H, Trish Stratus. Then they showed us a Cena video and this is where nobody does videos like the WWE. Their production, it’s amazing. The career highlights the Make a Wish highlights, meeting the troops, the mainstream TV appearances, and the movies. That’s a f*cking star everybody everywhere he went, it wasn’t like oh, here now we’re gonna bring out a wrestler, John Cena.”
John Cena ended the celebration on Monday with a heartfelt speech directed toward the WWE universe. He also stated while he doesn’t know when he’ll wrestle again, he’s sure it won’t be just one more match.
