Jim Cornette – “Who Gets Over Against Jericho? Nobody”

Adam Cole returned to AEW in January following a series of serious concussion-related injuries.

While the star finally stepped back in the ring on the March 29th episode of Dynamite, defeating Daniel Garcia. This victory put him directly in the firing line of Chris Jericho and the Jericho Appreciation Society. As the feud erupted, Jericho handcuffed Cole to the ropes while The Outcasts put a beatdown on his wife Britt Baker.

Discussing the storyline on his podcast, The Jim Cornette Experience, the legendary manager said that AEW has made Cole look like a “small, tiny simpleton.” He added that working with the Jericho Appreciation Society is the “kiss of death” as no one gets over against Jericho.

“Adam Cole, with the good will he had from the people about the legitimate concussion problem and he was out for so long, remember the first couple of times he brought the house down,” Cornette said.

“They have made him look like a small, tiny simpleton and done nothing interesting, and the Jericho group is the kiss of death because it’s always the same thing. They will do a WWE, sports entertainment style angle where they just beat somebody up unmercifully with no one trying to help, and it’s the same thing every time. Then, who gets over against Jericho? Nobody.”

Jim Cornette Critical Of Jeff Hardy’s AEW Return

In recent weeks, Cornette has also criticised AEW’s handling of Jeff Hardy, following the star’s return to the company on April 12th. During an earlier episode of his podcast, the veteran claimed that Tony Khan and AEW had “f*cked it up again,” as Hardy had reunited with his brother against people “nobody gives two dog sh*ts about.”
