On the December 16th edition of Friday Night SmackDown the mysterious Uncle Howdy confronted Bray Wyatt in person for the very first time.
On the show it was revealed that LA Knight had been kidnapped by an unknown figure on the previous episode. Knight came to the ring and accused Wyatt of being involved, while also claiming that his rival and Uncle Howdy were the same person.
At this, Wyatt made his way to the ring and Knight attacked him before being interrupted by Uncle Howdy on the big screen. The mysterious figure asked if he wanted to see something really scary before arriving at the top of the ramp.
Jim Cornette Critical Of Recent Bray Wyatt Segment
While the segment was a hit with some fans, others felt it was underwhelming and didn’t live up to the hype.
Speaking on his podcast, Jim Cornett’s Drive Thru, the legendary manager gave this thoughts on the action. Cornette explained that he felt the segment was too ramblingly, while the story between Wyatt and Howdy risks bringing down LA Knight as well.
“People have been saying the guy can talk, the guy can work or whatever. He can talk. The problem is he never got to the point. And we haven’t seen him wrestle so we don’t know if he can work. And we don’t know what the f**k is going on here or give a sh*t at this point and it’s dragging LA Knight down now with him. What do people like about this?”
During a recent interview, LA Knight described working with Bray Wyatt as a “unique challenge,” while discussing how they approach wrestling in two very different ways.
“Working with Wyatt is a unique challenge in the sense that you’ve got two diametrically opposed personalities. You have two very different approaches to what we do and in a strange way, it almost brings together a beautiful symphony so to speak, just because of the contrasting way we do things.”
