Jim Cornette lost faith in SmackDown Superstar Karrion Kross.
The former IMPACT star initially signed with WWE in 2020 and dominated NXT before moving to the main roster in July 2021. However, he lost within two minutes on debut and his valet Scarlett disappeared from television altogether. Shorn of a major part of his presentation, and repacked into a character that simply didn’t click with audiences, Kross was released in November 2021.
Fast forward to August 2022 and Triple H was now in charge of the main roster. This led to the return of a number of NXT stars including Kross and Scarlett. Although Kross initially featured in a program with Drew McIntyre, his run has again failed to catch fire.
Jim Cornette No Fan Of Karrion Kross
Kross’ latest run hasn’t caught on with fans, and Jim Cornette has revealed that he isn’t much of a fan either. Speaking on the Jim Cornette Experience, the legendary manager said that Kross is “done” after his entrance, quipping that his magic has disappeared since he grew his hair out.
“Here’s my comment. After the entrance, Kross is f***ing done. Remember when he was interesting and it goes down to the hair I think, I don’t know why. But at one point he was interesting and seemed like something and now he looks good physically, he does s**t. It’s just it doesn’t [connect], it’s boring, what’s missing, what’s happening here? […]
Is it that people have heard those promos that he’s just monotone, droning on, it doesn’t connect because it’s so phony? Is it the hair that made him look not intimidating?”
Karrion Kross was most recently in action on the May 26th episode of SmackDown where he was defeated by AJ Styles. In fact, Kross hasn’t won a match on television since overcoming Rey Mysterio on February 24th.
