Jim Cornette – Paul Heyman Is “The Most Talented Guy In The Company”

Paul Heyman

Jim Cornette has named who he says is the most talented person in WWE, naming an old rival who is currently working as a very special counsel.

On the latest edition of the Jim Cornette Experience podcast, the legendary manager of The Midnight Express was running through the entire WWE roster and he and his co-host tried to draft their ideal roster.

Cornette got Paul Heyman, who he used to work with during the pair’s time together in WCW. For Cornette, he made sure to note Heyman’s name down twice:

“Paul Heyman let me write him down twice, he’s the most talented guy in the company.”

Since the second half of 2020 Heyman has been an ever-present on-screen presence alongside The Head Of The Table Roman Reigns. Acting as Reigns’ Special Counsel, Heyman has overseen his rise back to the top of WWE as Universal Champion and watched with pleasure at his client’s rise to the head of his family as The Tribal Chief took charge of his cousins, The Usos.

Paul Heyman also had a spell as Executive Director of WWE’s flagship show, Raw that lasted from June 2019 until June 2020. During Heyman’s time in charge of the red brand, there was a notable shift to newer talent being used more prominently with the likes of Andrade, Angel Garza, and Aleister Black, and Ricochet all having plenty to do on-screen.

Heyman to some will be best remembered in the wrestling business as the pied-piper of extreme who led ECW to unlikely glory in the late nineties with a mix of hardcore, technical, Lucha, and Japanese-inspired pro wrestling that many had not seen before.

For younger wrestling fans, Heyman will be best known as the advocate for The Beast Incarnate Brock Lesnar. Heyman stood by Lesnar’s side for both his runs in the company and was standing ringside for arguably the most shocking moment in wrestling history when Brock Lesnar ended The Undertaker’s WrestleMania streak at WrestleMania XXX in 2014.
