Jim Cornette has discussed the prospect of Logan Paul leaving WWE Crown Jewel victorious.
At a recent press conference in Las Vegas, WWE announced that Logan Paul will take on Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship on November 5th at Crown Jewel. The event will take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and the bout will only be Paul’s second singles match and third match in total.
Many fans and peers have been impressed with just how quickly Logan Paul has been able to adapt to life inside the squared circle and with recent speculation WWE wants to head into WrestleMania season with two single world championships, the possibility of the Youtuber defeating Reigns is not out of the question.
Speaking on his Jim Cornette Experience podcast, Cornette expressed he would not be in favour of Paul winning the title from the Tribal Chief:
“Now I got a problem. Now I got a problem. And I mean, it would kill his career too, because then all the really dedicated fans would hate him for the rest of his life. Because even though he’s an athlete, and he did well, he’s had what, two matches? And now he’s gonna f*cking you know [win the title], that would be insane, and the fans would riot.”
Jim Cornette continued, likening the situation to when WCW Head Writer Vince Russo booked actor David Arquette to become WCW World Heavyweight Champion in 2000:
“Like they wouldn’t be able to blame sh*tstain like they did for the David Arquette thing, but it would be the same kind of reaction, just bullsh*t. So no, no.”
In his two previous encounters, Logan Paul made his in-ring debut at WrestleMania 38 teaming with The Miz to defeat Rey & Dominik Mysterio, and then competed against The Miz in singles competition at SummerSlam where he came out on top.
