Jim Cornette has taken a former AEW star to task over his recent controversial comments about former AEW World Champion, CM Punk.
The biggest story in wrestling at present is the explosive post-AEW All Out press conference and the fight that followed between CM Punk, Ace Steel, The Young Bucks, and a number of other important figures.
While assessing the chaos, now former AEW star Bobby Fish extended an invitation to Punk for a fight on his Undisputed Podcast:
“I’ll indulge. Let’s just make this a formal invitation to Phil [CM Punk]. I’m down. If that’s the direction he wants to go, he can pick the time, the place, we can do it in Chicago. It can be boxing, kickboxing, MMA. We can do this bare knuckle. Whatever sounds good to Phil. He can pick the weight, the place, let’s make it official. Phil, LET’S F*CKING GOOO!”
Now Jim Cornette has taken Fish to task over his comments on his Drive Thru podcast. The legendary wrestling manager has been supportive of CM Punk since the ugly issues at All Out surfaced:
“Fish goes into ‘well my MMA is so much better than Punk’s cause he got his ass kicked!’ Noted UFC veteran, Bobby Fish, said this. I hate to hear this because I always thought Fish was a good talent, an adult, and serious. But now apparently he thinks he’s Bobby f*cking Gracie.”
“[This] then backfired on Bobby Fish, because all he got on Twitter in response to that was jokes about his f**king advanced age like ‘Hey, what could you have done? You couldn’t save Abraham Lincoln from John Wilks Booth!’”
