Jim Cornette Blasts The Jericho Society – “Does Anybody Care About Jake Hager”

Jericho Appreciation Society Chris Jericho Jake Hager Anna Jay Matt Menard Angelo Parker Sammy Guevara Tay Melo Daniel Garcia AEW Dynamite

Jim Cornette held nothing back when giving his thoughts on the Jericho Appreciation Society.

The faction came together in March 2022 and is made up of Chris Jericho, Jake Hager, Daniel Garcia, Angelo Parker, Matt Menard, Sammy Guevara, Anna Jay, and Tay Melo. Since its formation, the group has feuded with the likes of the Blackpool Combat Club, and all members continue to have Jericho’s back when required.

However, in more recent weeks there has been some dissension within the JAS as Sammy Guevara looks set to head out on his own.

During a recent episode of his podcast, The Jim Cornette Experience, the legendary manager gave his appraisal of the group, and it’s fair to say he wasn’t especially impressed. Cornette questioned what many of the members contribute while deriding Daniel Garcia as a “black hole of charisma.”

“Does anybody care about Jake Hager? If he burst into spontaneous combustion tomorrow, would a wrestling fan in the world shed a tear? Would anybody miss Cool Hand Luke [Cool Hand Ang] and Daddy Mac Mac Daddy [Daddy Magic] if they weren’t there? What do they contribute?

It’s just been a group of people that really, Sammy’s been the only one that you could elevate from the start. Garcia, my God, how could we forget ol’ DG. The poster boy for being a black hole of charisma. Not only does he have none, but he sucks the charisma of those around him into him.”

Chris Jericho Had Match With Another Jim Cornette Target Blocked

As well as the Jericho Appreciation Society, Jim Cornette hasn’t traditionally been a fan of Kenny Omega either, so the idea of a match between the pair sounds like a match made in hell for the veteran. But that rematch almost happened.

Speaking on his own podcast, Jericho revealed that when AEW went to Winnipeg in March he asked to have a singles match with Omega, only for it to be rejected.
