Jey Uso’s WWE WrestleMania 41 Opponent Confirmed

Jey Uso speaks about his shoes

Jey Uso has made his choice for WrestleMania 41.

Entering the 2025 Royal Rumble as the 20th participant, Jey Uso lasted over 30 minutes, and last eliminated John Cena, to crown himself the 2025 Rumble winner. Faced with the choice of choosing his championship at WrestleMania, Jey Uso last week spent time on both Raw and SmackDown, to make his decision.

Similar to last week, Uso kicked off the 10th February episode of Raw with a big celebration before being interrupted by the World Heavyweight Champion Gunther. Making his presence felt, The Ring General pulled Uso down from the announcer’s table and launched an onslaught.

Continuing the brutal and violent attack, Gunther had to be separated from Uso by security and agents. However, once the attack was over, Jey Uso arguably made one of the most important decisions of his career.

A broken and battered Jey Uso then challenged Gunther for his World Heavyweight title at WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas. This marked the first official match for the upcoming Mania 41 PLE.

Recently a world title match was confirmed for the 3/3 episode of Raw.

Jey Uso Discusses The History Behind His Catchphrase ‘Yeet’

In a recent interview on Nightcap, Jey Uso reflected on the origin of his ‘Yeet’. The 2025 Royal Rumble winner claimed that his 2023 Fastlane press conference with Cody Rhodes was the origin moment of his ‘Yeet’ catchphrase.

“If you really pay attention, like, my brothers, Roman, we’ve kind of been saying that from the jump. If you look at old promos or whatever, you’ll hear him. You know, it’s also West Coast slang. It’s been a slang before ‘Yeet’ became a meme. Like, I’m a little older than the little homies who are like, ‘Oh, that’s just a meme, a catchphrase where you’re yeeting people.’ But it’s been slang.

The ‘T’ wasn’t even on there. It used to be ‘Ye,’ like, ‘ye e e e e e,’ you know? You said it a little too hard though, you gotta pull it back. But, man, I didn’t expect it to take off like that. It just took off. And I feel like it kind of took off at the press conference. If you watch the press conference, like, you know, if you watch you know and then, Cody saying ‘Ye,’ and then it just took off, man. Like, I think that was a turning point. But I never thought it would take off the way it did.”
