Jey Uso has spoken out against WWE’s fanbase, accusing them of not knowing what they want following the positive reaction to his beatdown at the hands of cousin, Roman Reigns.
Appearing on the The Braxton Beat, an IGTV series hosted by WWE personality Kayla Braxton, the Uso brother stayed in character to speak about his alliance with ‘The Tribal Chief’ and why WWE’s fan base don’t know what they want.
Questioned about his recent attack on Daniel Bryan two weeks ago, which Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter says will be the catalyst for a major feud with Roman Reigns, as well as his latest partnership with his bloodline, Uso had this to say:
“It’s like a double-edged sword, you know, I’m in that position trying to fight from under and you got the whole world saying I don’t belong there. You got the whole world talking a whole bunch of crap like I’m not the guy supposed to be running with this thing and now we give the world what they want to see and now the whole world [says], ‘oh, why you do that? Why you do that?’ Man, y’all don’t know what the hell you want, but I know I gotta do what I need to do to provide for my family.
If this is how it’s gotta be, then this is how it’s gotta be. It’s a shark-eat-shark world that we live in professional wrestling. They know what it is, man. There’s no friends. He said it… and if I’m going to stick with somebody through this whole journey, through this game to get me through, man, it has gotta be my family, even though I do not like it. Like I said, Daniel Bryan, I’m sorry, Brie, I’m sorry. I’m sorry to everybody that had to see that live. If y’all keep testing me, this is what you’re going to get.”
On the most recent edition of WWE Friday Night SmackDown, Jey Uso defeated Kevin Owens under the watchful eye of WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns. It was just another string to the bow of the new character Uso is exploring.
After losing to ‘The Head of the Table’ at WWE Hell in a Cell, Jey was forced to fall in line with his cousin or face being expelled from the family altogether. Ever since, Roman has used him to do his dirty work in order to prove his loyalty.
Jey Uso will serve as part of Team SmackDown alongside Seth Rollins, King Corbin and Kevin Owens.
