Since his defeat by Gunther for the World Heavyweight Championship earlier this year, Jey Uso has been in pursuit of the title.
While previously a star focused on improving his game and helping others, Uso has recently been showing signs of a selfish run, more focused on his individual goals and success. His behaviour became even more evident on tonight’s September 8th episode of Raw.
In the opening segment of the show, after showing signs of tension with LA Knight, Uso later refused to help The Megastar in his match against Bronson Reed in the main event of the show. As Jimmy Uso proposed to be in Knight’s corner during the match, ‘Main-Event’ Jey Uso instead refused to help.
Instead, he started showing visible signs of a heel turn by acting similarly to the heel Tribal Chief, Roman Reigns.
Jey Uso: You understand me? Look, you hear that. Here’s what we gonna do, we gonna make sure they all acknowledge us. Or we smash all of them. Okay?
Jimmy Uso: Man, you are not sounding like youself, Uce. You kinda sound like, Roman.
Jey Uso: Maybe sounding like myself, ain’t working.

Despite his failure to capture his World Heavyweight Championship recently, Jey Uso has remained a top name on the roster. Last month, while speaking on his Off the Top podcast, Hall of Famer Rikishi laid out his expectations for Uso.
Jey’s [Uso] still that guy to be able to, you know, he’s young, he’s still active to be able to keep moving. I feel the company can trust Jey now. They can trust him to be able to, if you wanted to carry the ball again, that he can. And at the end of the day, it’s like, the numbers don’t lie on stuff like that.”
