Jey Uso speaks about his shoes

Jey Uso has spilled the beans about when he first found out about his 2025 Rumble victory.

On 1st February 2025, at the Royal Rumble PLE, Jey Uso shocked the world when he last eliminated John Cena, to win the event. An extremely unexpected choice to win the event, Uso emerged as the true underdog on the roster. In a match featuring several other top talents such as CM Punk, Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns, and others, Uso remained the last man standing in the Lucas Oil Stadium.

Recently, speaking to Alex McCarthy of Daily Mail, Uso revealed when he first learned about the victory. Uso shared that he was only informed of his Rumble win on the day of the event, alongside the other final three participants of the match.

“I didn’t find out till the day of. They just sit down whoever is the last four. We’ll have this group meeting, then, ‘Right, last four, stay’. They call out the last four, I’m in the four, I’m like, “Oh damn”. Then they’ll tell me right there, ‘You know, we’re going to go with Jey’. ‘I’m Just looking around like, ‘Yeah’.

I’m freaking out to the whole day, but it’s a good thing, it’s great, it’s good pressure to get put on you that day. And also moving forward, I’m just excited, because that’s a great title accolade to have under your belt, as a wrestler, and for me. I have hit so many new things that I never thought I’d even scratch the surface on, but I’m the 2025 Royal Rumble winner now. I bet last year people would have never picked me. They didn’t pick me this year, but I just love this ride I’m on, and every week it changes.

I show up to work just ready to go. Whatever I’ve got to do, I’m going do it, and I feel like they see the hard work. I feel like Hunter (Triple H) knows. I bled for this, and he’s seen it because he went through it too, and he gave me this opportunity, and I’m just not going let anybody down.”

Following his Rumble victory, Jey Uso chose to face Gunther at WrestleMania 41, with his World Championship on the line.
