Jey Uso Lays Down Huge Challenge For Roman Reigns On A Night Of Chaos

Jey Uso on WWE SmackDown

Jey Uso is coming for Roman Reigns and he’s coming for revenge.

The July 7th episode of SmackDown live from Madison Square Garden opened with “The Tribal Court of The Tribal Chief.” The segment was set up after The Usos defeated Reigns and Solo Sikoa at Money In The Bank by pinning the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion.

With everyone in the ring, Reigns admitted that he was pinned at Money In The Bank, but he’s still the Tribal Chief, and as such was confused as to why he was there given The Usos don’t have the authority to put him on trial.

At this, The Usos stepped back up and presented video footage of all the ways that Reigns has wronged those around him over the last three years.

The Champion then turned on the manipulation and said everything he did for the family, and explained how he’d “bent his moral compass” for The Usos, evening mentioning their respective children. This led Reigns to question whether all of this was even worth it, and he appeared to be abdicating, placing his lei on Jey, throwing his championship belt to the floor and even kneeling in front of his cousin.

However, the show was nothing more than mind games and Reigns hit Jey with a thunderous low blow before a wild brawl erupted. The chaos ended with Jey being forced to watch as Reigns and Sikoa decimated his brother, who was eventually taken away in an ambulance. But the story wasn’t done there.

As the show drew to a close it was revealed that Jey was heading back to the area after going with Jimmy to hospital.

When the news reached Reigns he headed to the ring with Sikoa and Paul Heyman. With the Tribal Chief defiant once again, Jey emerged through the crowd and went after Reigns and Sikoa with a chair. Although Reigns escaped he left his Undisputed WWE Universal Title behind.

The show ended with Jey holding the gold high above his head and challenging Reigns to meet him one-on-one.

Jey Uso Vs. Roman Reigns Reportedly Set For SummerSlam

Although far from confirmed on-screen and with many more twists and turns to come, it’s been reported that Roman Reigns will meet Jey Uso at SummerSlam in Detroit.

It’s unclear how long Jimmy Uso will be off television following the beatdown from Reigns and Sikoa.
