WWE Superstar and Bloodline member Jey Uso has had a new tattoo, honouring his late uncle and former WWE Intercontinental Champion, Umaga.
Umaga is a former two-time WWE Intercontinental Champion and remembered as one of the most dominant in-ring performers. He first signed a WWE contract in 2000 but was also seen wrestling in AJPW and TNA. He made his return to WWE in April 2006, and went on a lengthy unbeaten streak until losing to then-WWE Champion John Cena in 2007.
Jey Uso now has a new tattoo honouring his uncle, sharing the new artwork on his Instagram page with a message thanking his tattooist:
“This piece means Alot to me.🩸@samoan_mike thanks again as always Malo lava uso..#TheSamoanBulldozer #RIPUnk #WeTheOnes”
Current Undisputed WWE Undisputed Champion Roman Reigns has previously spoken about the importance of tattoos in their family, and how it all revolves around Umaga:
“It all revolves around our cousin Eki – Umaga. At the time, he was a big WWE Superstar and he passed away way too early, but he was the one that was the fuel behind us getting tatted up. He had this lady back in Pensacola that was kind of hooking him up, giving him a little bit of a discount here and there, and he was getting a lot of work done at the time.”
Roman Reigns is now set to take on Brock Lesnar at Summerslam for the Undisputed WWE Undisputed Championship, although the match was recently up in the air following Lesnar’s reported walkout from SmackDown. Goldberg was noted as being a possible replacement until ‘The Beast’ returned to the blue brand.
