Cody Rhodes’ celebration ends in a mishap after Jey Uso’s accident.
This week’s WWE RAW episode had a different format as it started two hours early at 6 p.m. EST. This is to give way to film for this week’s Friday Night SmackDown in line with the upcoming 4th of July. Among the blue brand stars present for the taping were Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso, but they didn’t have the most successful end to their night.
After the filming of SmackDown, Jey brought Cody Rhodes a cake and invited a fan on-stage to celebrate the former Undisputed Champion’s 40th birthday on June 30. However, after fans sang for The American Nightmare’s birthday and he blew out the candle, Uso accidentally dropped the cake while standing up.
The Yeet Master ran to Cody apologetically and hugged him while pointing at the cake on the ring mat. During all this, fans boo’d Jey and began chanting “you f***ked up.” In revenge, Rhodes took the cake and set it up as if he was about to smash it on Jey, but instead smashed the cake on his own face.

Last weekend, Cody Rhodes defeated Randy Orton to become this year’s King of the Ring winner. However, he controversially attained this win as he did use an exposed turnbuckle to his advantage. Still, he is now set for an Undisputed Championship match at SummerSlam, which is currently held by John Cena.
