Number one contender to the WWE Universal Championship, Jey Uso, has confirmed that his brother Jimmy will return to the company in the New Year.

Previously, Jimmy’s return was up in the air with an expected clearance around February 2021, but on a recent appearance on the Gorilla Position Podcast, Jey gave a definitive date for his comeback:

“This past month has just been good for my career. I’m good, I’m happy. My brother is doing good. He’s coming back in January. That’s right around the corner. We’re going to turn up in 2021. We came back in January 2020 and helped Roman with the dog food. I should have let his ass eat the dog food. In 2021, we’re coming back in January. You thought it is hot now, we’re about to double up.”

With Jimmy set to return, it’s likely that Jey’s singles push will come to a halt in order for the twins to reform their Usos tag team which has been popular for over a decade.

Jimmy Uso has been away from WWE since suffering a knee injury in a Triple Threat Ladder Match at WrestleMania 36. However, he did make an appearance in the main event of WWE Clash of Champions 2020 when he hobbled to the ring to save his brother from injury at the hands of cousin, Roman Reigns.

As for Jey Uso, he will challenge Roman Reigns one more time for the WWE Universal Championship inside Hell in a Cell on October 25.

Inside the Ropes will have live coverage of WWE Hell in a Cell.
