Jey Uso Admits Concerns About Being Fired From WWE

Jey Uso suffered a loss on WWE RAW

Jey Uso opens up on times when he thought he was almost fired from WWE.

Shocking the world yesterday on 1st February, Jey Uso last eliminated John Cena to win the 2025 Royal Rumble match. Eliminating three opponents and surviving a total of 36 minutes and 59 seconds, Uso remained the last man standing.

Recently, speaking on the Club 520 Podcast, Jey Uso reflected on his WWE career and shared a moment when he thought he was almost fired from the promotion. Treating every night as the same since then, and giving in his best efforts, Uso claimed:

“I ain’t gonna lie, every year I’ve been wrestling, I thought I’d get fired. That’s how I think. That’s how cold it is. Everybody is coming. In this business, everybody is trying to come get the top spot. They are bringing in the little homies, and I’m on my way out. I’ve been on WWE TV for going on 15 years. I’ve always felt strong, but I feel the body creeping up. I’m 39 right now. It’s a young man’s game and I recognize it. I just like stepping up and challenging all of them.

They are gonna have to go through me and the top homies to take it. I’m not gonna let you take it if you’re not ready.I’m so grateful. There was a moment in wrestling where there was no reaction or I wasn’t on TV and I’d show up to work and sit in the corner the whole time. What do I do?

Every single night, I treat it like it’s my first time. The energy out there is crazy. I really vibe off that. If I’m going to take up time off TV, our segments are slotted out with certain time. If I’m out there and they are going crazy, you’re gonna have to cut some time from the segment after me because they aren’t going to get higher than what’s going on right now.”

Later in the post-show press conference after Royal Rumble, Uso addressed his intentions of going after Gunther at WrestleMania 41.

Jey Uso’s Son Also Wants To Be A Part Of WWE

In the same interview on the Club 520 podcast, Jey Uso appeared and shared how his 13-year-old son is now interested in joining his father at WWE.

“My little one out there, he’s like, ‘Dad, how old do I have to be to wrestle?’ ’18. Five more years me and you are gonna be like Dom and Rey Mysterio.’ He’s so into it. I feel like if he wanted to, I would let him. It is hard, but he’s got to be all in. I’ve got nieces and nephews ready to go. 15, 16, 17, 6’5” 300 pounds, big Samoan kids.”

In other news: Alexa Bliss reportedly replaced this popular star at Royal Rumble.

In a new interview, Jey Uso has recalled his immediate reaction to winning the Royal Rumble.
