WWE Hall of Famer Jerry Lawler has shared some incredible footage of The Rock’s first televised pro wrestling match ever!
The Rock’s life and career are the subjects of smash hit NBC series Young Rock, which has recently been renewed for its third season. During season 2 of the show, The Rock is seen in the USWA in Memphis where he earned his stripes competing as Flex Kavana.
Jerry Lawler, who was part of the match in question, has now responded on social media after footage of the match was shared online. The Rock, as Kavana, is seen teaming with the late Brian Christopher in a tag team match against The King and Superstar Bill Dundee.

The Rock wrestled for the USWA for almost three months in the summer of 1996, losing his final match in the promotion to Jerry Lawler in a USWA Unified World Title match. That bout took place three months before The Rock made his televised WWE debut at the 1996 Survivor Series as Rocky Maivia.
Speculation has been running wild about The Rock potentially wrestling one more time at WrestleMania 39 and now a report on the Hollywood star’s schedule for the spring of 2023 has hinted that The People’s Champ appearing on The Grandest Stage Of Them All might well be on the cards.
