Jeff Jarrett won’t be competing in the main event of All In 2024.
The 3rd Owen Hart Cup is approaching its conclusion with all the opening round matches completed. While the rest of the field knew who their opponents would be in the opening round, Jarrett was left at a disadvantage as he would be facing the wildcard entry, which was hand-selected by The Young Bucks.
Cutting an emotional promo on the June 22nd episode of Collision, Jeff Jarrett looked back on his partnership with the late Owen Hart and how much winning the tournament would mean to him, rallying the AEW fans behind him in the process. On July 3rd, the Hall of Famer found out that his opponent was former World Champion Adam Page, who had not been seen since Revolution back in March.
Jeff Jarrett Eliminated By Adam Page
While Jarrett put up a great fight and had the full support of the Chicago crowd, including locking in the sharpshooter onto Page at one point, it sadly was not enough as Page hit the Buckshot Lariat and a Dead Eye to win the match and advance to the next round. With commentary stating that the extra Dead Eye by Page was not necessary, the former World Champion is being positioned as a heel following his return.
Page will face Jay White in the semifinals on the July 6th episode of Collision and the winner of that match will face Bryan Danielson in the finals on July 10th. The winner of the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament will challenge Swerve Strickland for the World Championship at All In.
Looking back on the match, Jeff Jarrett described the night as special and surreal.
