Back in 2002, Jeff Jarrett helped create TNA, the company now known as IMPACT Wrestling alongside his father Jerry Jarrett. He remained with the company until 2014.
These days, the star is signed to All Elite Wrestling, where he’s formed an alliance with Jay Lethal, Sonjay Dutt, and Satnam Singh. He made his debut for the promotion back in November, attacking Darby Allin and smashing a guitar over his head.
In addition, Jarrett serves in an executive role backstage as Director of Business Development. He’s instrumental in helping the company expand its touring schedule as it heads to Canada and also is set to make its UK debut later this year at AEW All In.
“There’s Nothing Better For The Industry” – Jeff Jarrett On Companies Creating New Stars
Speaking in a recent interview with Good Karma Wrestling, Jarrett compared his experience in creating TNA to that of the still-young AEW promotion that began in 2019. According to Jarrett, new companies entering the fray is a great thing for the wrestling business as a whole.
“What I love above anything with my entrepreneurial spirit is the alternative brand, the challenger brand, however you want to cache it. The wrestling industry thrives, not just when there is competition, but I would love to see 2, 3, 4 others. That’s what kind of makes our industry.
“I love when a lucha libre promotion enters the US or a Japanese company enters into the market space because rising tide truly does rise all ships…. All the four pillars talk of those talent, its unbelievable, there’s nothing better for the industry for new stars to be developed. I’m saying that from a guy that’s a 2-time Hall of Famer and been around 37 years, there’s nothing like getting fresh blood in the industry.”
