Jeff Jarrett has high hopes for a member of the AEW roster.
Double J attempted to become a champion once again at the Double or Nothing pay-per-view, teaming with Jay Lethal to challenge FTR for the Tag Team Championships, with the added stipulation of Mark Briscoe being the special guest referee.
Jeff Jarrett Believes Satnam Singh Has More Potential Than Anyone In AEW
Not coming to the ring alone, Jarrett brought backup in the form of Sonjay Dutt, Satnam Singh and wife Karen Jarrett, who debuted on the go-home episode of Dynamite:
The Hall of Famer spoke with PWMania prior to the event, and was asked about the match and potential future championship opportunities. Jarrett praised ally Singh, then going on to state if Singh could be the third man if an AEW Trios Title match were to be presented to them:
“I’ll clear that up. A friend of Jay’s, is a friend of mine. It just goes without saying, but Briscoe, he has a job to do this weekend and we keep kind of using the same kind of mentality. He’s going to do the right thing when the time comes. I’ll leave it at that, but the Trios Title, I’ll say this, I think Satnam Singh has the most potential of anybody on the AEW roster, candidly, bar none.
Despite teaming together for a number of months, Jeff Jarrett and Jay Lethal do not have an official tag team name in AEW. Jarrett referenced names that have been pitched to him, but ultimately wants to be recognised as champions:
But when we win those Tag Titles, me and Jay, don’t plan on losing them anytime soon. With the addition of Karen, you kind of look at our unit. A lot of names are bantering around; Lethal Connection, Triple J, I hear a name here and there. At the end of the day, we want to be called winners. That’s what we plan on doing when we win the Tag Team Titles,”
Jarrett and Lethal did not win the AEW Tag Team Championships at Double Or Nothing, ultimately antagonising referee Briscoe one too many times to allow FTR to get the victory.
