Jeff Hardy might be a twenty-plus year veteran but he still has one major box to check on his already accomplished career: A WrestleMania main event including runs with both the WWE and Universal Championships by the end of 2024.
Jeff Hardy, now 43, made his WWE return alongside his brother Matt at WrestleMania 33 in 2017, making a surprise comeback and winning the RAW Tag Team Championships in an excellent ladder match. Jeff, who will forever be remembered for his insane spots in TLC matches across multiple SummerSlam and WrestleMania events, still hopes to main event ‘The Granddaddy of Them All’ before the end of his career.
Speaking to Sports Illustrated Jeff said:
“Between now and the year 2024, I want to be WWE Champion and Universal Champion, one time apiece, and main event WrestleMania one of those years. That’s the goal I just set for myself. Faith over fear, everything will be good.”
Hardy also spoke about bringing his Willow character that he portrayed while at Impact to WWE for a program with ‘The Fiend’ Bray Wyatt, with the idea that Willow could even appear in the Firefly Fun House!
“I want Willow to have something to do with ‘The Fiend’ Bray Wyatt, though what that is, I’m not sure yet. That’s one of the struggles right now inside my head.
“I’m thinking that Willow is stuck in a little black-and-white TV of the Twilight Zone in The Firefly Fun House. Maybe The Fiend beats Jeff Hardy, and that’s why I transform into Willow. It’s cool that pro wrestling allows all this creativity to exist. For me, it’s always been where my dreams come true, and it still is to this day.”
Jeff Hardy is slated to take on Elias in singles competition at Hell in a Cell this Sunday. Make sure to keep up to date with all the action from Hell in a Cell as it unfolds right here at ITRWrestling.com.
