Jeff Hardy “Embarrassed” & “Hates Himself” Over Latest DUI Arrest

Matt Hardy & Jeff Hardy

Jeff Hardy is feeling embarrassed and full of remorse after his recent DUI arrest according to his brother Matt.

On June 13th, Jeff Hardy was arrested and charged for DUI. Officers at the scene noted that the star was unable to complete any of the standard sobriety tests, while in footage of the arrest, Hardy appears very unsteady on his feet.

Following the news of his latest legal troubles, Hardy was suspended without by pay by AEW, although the company has pledged to assist the star as he seeks treatment for his substance abuse issues.

Speaking on a recent episode of his podcast, the Extreme Life of Matt Hardy, the tag team legend gave an update on his brother. Matt explained that Jeff has been left feeling embarrassed, and “hates himself” over the situation.

“I mean, you know, after speaking to Jeff the last couple days, I can just [say] he’s just so remorseful, so embarrassed, he like hates himself. And I think that’s a part of it, too. He has to know, obviously, what he did was atrocious and terrible, terrible decision making. But then also, he has to know that people love him, it’s very important. Just like you said, at the end of the day, it all comes down to the individual. You have to keep yourself in check, you have to be on top of yourself, you are the only person that can really ensure you’re not going to go awry or go in a bad direction.

Whether it’s because of mental issues or because of addiction issues. As you said, you were the one that decided to take care of yourself and you had to make that call, no one else can really make it for you. Because like if you don’t decide to do it on your own, then you end up kind of half-assing it and you don’t really get any positivity out of it if you don’t gain productivity out of it.”

In the weeks following Hardy’s arrest, it has been reported that the former WWE stars were originally scheduled to win the AEW World Tag Team Titles at Dynamite Road Rager. However, at Double or Nothing concern was raised for Jeff’s welfare and he was booked in for a brain scan. He was on his way to that scan when he was arrested.
