Jeff Hardy On Facing Edge – “We Gotta Do It One More Time”

Jeff Hardy & Edge

Jeff Hardy has admitted that he would like to face long-time rival Edge one more time before they both hang up their boots.

The storied rivalry between Jeff Hardy and Edge goes back more than two decades. The two Superstars first met in a WWE ring in 1999, when the Hardy Boyz squared off against Edge and Christian on Shotgun Saturday Night.

Over the following years the pair would clash in the first-ever Tag Team Ladder Match and in the first ever TLC Match. While this early portion of their careers is best remembered for Edge Spearing Jeff Hardy from the top of a ladder at WrestleMania X-Seven in TLC 2.

Later on in their careers, the rivalry resumed with memorable battles over both the WWE and World Championship belts. In a strange twist of fate, two of Hardy’s three World Title wins in WWE have come against Edge.

Speaking during a new interview with SportBIBLE, Jeff Hardy has admitted that he would like to face the Rated R Superstar one more time.

“Actually, last month I spoke to Edge and I think he said something, ‘I think we gotta do it one more time’. Totally. Even in the rumble last year, I didn’t last no time – I was in and out and he won the rumble. I had said beforehand that it would be cool if me and Edge had this face off, just for a moment because of our history. As long as he keeps his health and I keep mine, that’s another big match,”

Looking ahead, Hardy also explained that he’s hoping for one more World Title run and a chance to work with Kevin Owens.

“’I’ve kind of dreamt about that – especially the universal championship. I’ve talked about that a lot, with Roman Reigns and the Usos – the Bloodline is so strong now and I feel like I could fit in – especially the way the crowds have been with me. They are really with me and they give that adrenaline that was missing in the Thunderdome era. But now that I’m still here I feel like that [the Reigns match] has to happen.

I’ve never worked with Kevin Owens and I always forget to mention Kevin Owens. I got to work with Sami Zayn and AJ [Styles] in that last ladder match, which was amazing. If it’s not Roman Reigns, maybe Kevin Owens when I go back to Raw next year whatever happens,”

Jeff Hardy was most recently in action at Survivor Series where he formed part of Team SmackDown. The ‘Charismatic Enigma’ was the last survivor for his team but was eventually pinned by Seth Rollins.
