After weeks of speculation regarding his future, ‘Switchblade’ Jay White returned to New Japan Pro Wrestling at the ‘Road to the New Beginning’ event in Korakuen Hall.
White was last seen at New Year’s Dash on January 6th, where he was pinned by Tomohiro Ishii as part of a ten man tag team match between the Bullet Club and Chaos.
The New Zealander’s comments following his Wrestle Kingdom defeat to Kota Ibushi the night previous, paired with rumours of potential WWE interest, had led many to believe that White was heading out of the company.
In fact, New Japan had even gone as far as to remove White’s profile for their roster page.
But it appears that this was all part of the plan, as the Bullet Club front man made his return at Korakuen, attacking Ishii following a six man tag team match, again between the warring factions.

New Japan have three more ‘Road to..’ events scheduled prior to The New Beginning in Hiroshima, which is set to take place across February 10th and 11th.
It’s likely that White may face ‘The Stone Pitbull’ at the tour’s conclusion given their recent hostilities, with White in clear need of momentum following his Wrestle Kingdom disappointment.
