Jay White Lays Down Challenge To AEW Star For NJPW Match

Jay White

New Japan Pro Wrestling star Switchblade Jay White has sent a message through the forbidden door as he challenged an AEW star to face him in the ring.

Bullet Club’s White has been in the United States for several months competing in NJPW Strong events and recently at NJPW’s Battle In The Valley. On that show, Jay White defended his NEVER Openweight Championship against recent AEW debutant Tomohiro Ishii with The Stone Pitbull coming out on top.

At the NJPW Strong Detonation show which saw White team with Bullet Club partner Hikuleo to defeat Yuya Uemura and Alex Zayne, Switchblade took to the microphone to lay down a challenge to an AEW star and former Ring Of Honor World Champion:

“Originally my plan was to open the door here on New Japan Strong and have an open challenge for the NEVER Openweight Championship but as we can all see that championship is gone.”

“That championship is gone but I’m not. Someone say I’m bigger than any f*cking championship anyway! So why don’t I just leave the door wide open to New Japan Strong? Leave that door open as an open invitation despite me having no championship. An open invitation to anybody from any company who wants to come and step up to the best wrestler in the world.”

Going on to refer to some veterans as “young kids” as he named some stars he could face, he soon got to a star famously from Southern California:

“Local young kid just trying to catch a break by the name of Christopher Daniels. Yeah, I like that, homegrown, young challengers looking for their chance. Young Christopher Daniels, I’m gonna do you a favour and make you famous. So Christopher Daniels why don’t you meet me at Nemesis in Hollywood baby where you can finally catch your break.”

“Christopher Daniels, step up, accept my challenge, and you too like many before you can breathe with the Switchblade because it is still my era.”

Fifty-one-year-old Christopher Daniels last wrestled for AEW in May 2021 when he and Frankie Kazarian were defeated by The Young Bucks, bringing their long-standing tag team to an end. Since then Daniels has wrestled for IMPACT Wrestling and on the Chris Jericho Cruise.
