The WWE Universe is buzzing over fallout from the inaugural two-night SummerSlam event, which was capped off by Brock Lesnar’s shocking comeback. The return marks Lesnar’s first appearance since being named in Janel Grant’s sexual misconduct lawsuit against Vince McMahon and John Laurinaitis. Lesnar and WWE were just called out by Grant’s attorney.

The Beast had been away since losing to Cody Rhodes at SummerSlam 2023. World Wrestling Entertainment’s Creative Writing Team had plans for Lesnar to return at the 2024 Royal Rumble, but days before the PLE, former WWE HQ employee Janel Grant filed a lawsuit accusing McMahon, Laurinaitis, and Lesnar of sexual misconduct, assault, and trafficking. WWE began distancing itself from Lesnar, who was just named and not actually sued, and at one point there was talk that the UFC Legend may be done with the company.

SummerSlam Sunday was headlined by Cody Rhodes dethroning John Cena of the Undisputed Championship. After the match, Lesnar re-ignited MetLife Stadium by interrupting Cena’s big moment. After a lengthy staredown, Lesnar hit the ring and ducked a punch, then laid the soon-to-be-retired Superstar out with the F5.

Janel Grant’s Spokesperson Says Brock Lesnar’s WWE Return Will Backfire

Brock Lesnar’s surprise WWE return has fueled rumors and speculation as SummerSlam fallout heat up. It was reported that the company’s legal department cleared Lesnar around one month ago, opening the door for his big comeback.

A spokesperson for Janel Grant issued a statement to the media today in response to World Wrestling Entertainment bringing Lesnar back, which has not gone over well with everyone. The rep lashed out at officials, and predicted this will backfire.

“For far too long, abuse was allowed to thrive under WWE’s leadership. Instead of righting this wrong, WWE has done nothing to ensure those responsible are held accountable. This attempt to sweep misconduct under the rug will backfire. We look forward to the full set of facts, including those about Mr. Lesnar, coming out in a court of law where they belong but, in the meantime, we refer you back to Janel Grant’s updated complaint, which outlines, in detail, the abuse she endured by McMahon and others while employed at WWE,” reads the full statement.
