On the premiere episode of Rampage, Jamie Hayter returned to AEW after a near two-year absence to align with Britt Baker.
The hometown hero, Baker successfully defended her AEW Women’s World Championship in the main event against Red Velvet via submission. After the match, Baker wanted to add insult to injury to her challenger but, Kris Statlander watching on from ringside blindsided the champion.
However, the attack didn’t last long as a mystery assailant took out the Galaxy’s Greatest Alien. The attacker removed their black cap to reveal her identity and assist Baker in delivering a Curb Stomp to Red Velvet.
Later on in the evening, AEW announced that Jamie Hayter has officially joined the promotion. She received the coveted “All Elite” presentation across social media.
Hayter was last seen in AEW in 2019. On the 6th edition of Dynamite, she teamed with Emi Sakura to take on Riho and Shanna. Before that, she lost her debut AEW match to Britt Baker. Since then Hayter has had successful runs in STARDOM where she won the Goddesses Of Stardom Championship with Bea Priestley. Hayter also won the RevPro Undisputed Women’s Championship.
The comeback to AEW came as a shock to many as it was rumoured that she was NXT UK bound. In June Revolution Pro Wrestling announced they had vacated the women’s title due to Hayter and Skye Smitson receiving and accepting NXT UK tryouts. Obviously, that was not the case as Hayter returned to AEW as Britt Baker’s backup.
