On the latest edition of Busted Open Radio, ‘Cowboy’ James Storm talked about his recent training session with ‘Rowdy’ Ronda Rousey.
Last week, Inside the Ropes reported that Storm was seen working out with the former WWE Raw Women’s Champion ahead of her suspected return to the company in 2021. This was confirmed by the current IMPACT Wrestling star on Twitter.
Among other things, the biggest topic coming out of the interview on SiriusXM was how impressed the former NWA National Champion was with ‘The Baddest Woman on the Planet’:
“So I went to this undisclosed location or whatever, and just got in the ring and worked out with Ronda Rousey, and man, I’ve always been kind of the guy – I mean, I guess cause I’m kind of old school. I guess, the inter-gender wrestling and stuff, cause I’m always like ‘Really? Can a woman really work with a man. But I’ll tell you what, when she was standing across the corner from me, I was like, ‘Yeah, I don’t really think I’d want to be in the cage with her.’ Like, I mean, she was showing me some of her judo throws and I was just like ‘Jesus.’”
Storm went on to compare Rousey to the other so called celebrities and non-wrestling personalities who had tried their hand at the industry and how seriously she had taken her duty to be ready for when WWE came calling.
According to Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Ronda Rousey is expected to return by WrestleMania 37 with the belief among fans that she will be the shock entrant in the 2021 Royal Rumble Match.
Further to Meltzer’s belief that Rousey will appear on the ‘Grandest Stage of Them All’, it is also reported that Vince McMahon has major plans for Becky Lynch vs. Ronda Rousey at the thirty seventh edition of his brainchild with the wrestling God expecting ‘The Man’ to return one to two months after giving birth.
Inside the Ropes will keep you up to date with any possible WWE return as and when more news becomes available.
