AEW’s Jake Roberts commented on the brawl that ensued following All Out.
While All Out had its fair share of incredible in-ring action, the aftermath of the event overshadowed anything seen on screen. During the post-show media scrum, CM Punk sat next to AEW President Tony Khan and launched into a verbal tirade against Colt Cabana. While he didn’t mention them by name, he also lambasted AEW EVP’s Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks saying they “couldn’t manage a Target.” He also had harsh words for Adam Page, who he did address by name and who he took an unscripted shot at on a recent episode of Dynamite.
Following his comments, the Young Bucks and Kenny Omega reportedly confronted the AEW World Champion, which led to a brawl. CM Punk was said to have thrown punches, and his trainer and AEW producer Ace Steel reportedly threw a chair that hit Nick Jackson in the face as well as grabbed Kenny Omega by the hair and bit him. Multiple people were suspended as a result of the melee, including the AEW EVP’s.
In addition, both the AEW World Championship and the AEW Trios World Championships were vacated as a result of the events.
Speaking on his DDP Snake Pit podcast (available early via AdFreeShows), AEW manager Jake Roberts said that he hates that a fight happened and praised the idea of a tournament to crown a new AEW World Champion.
“It’s none of my d*** business and it’s none of the fans’ business either. Stupid s*** happens in this world everyday and I just hate that these young guys chose a fight when they did. I’m sure that they’re regretting it and I think that they know the best thing they can do is turn the belts over to a tournament. It was wise and go AEW, man. I’m all for you guys, I love you guys to death. You know, I’m still employed there.”
At AEW Dynamite Grand Slam, Jon Moxley emerged victorious as the winner of the tournament and is once again AEW World Champion.
