Wrestling legend Jake ‘The Snake’ Roberts has opened up about giving The Undertaker advice early on in The Deadman’s career.
Roberts was asked about giving advice to The Undertaker early on in his career, and revealed to Inside The Ropes‘ Lead Writer Gary Cassidy how he knew The Undertaker was going to be special almost immediately, saying he told The Deadman he was going to be a superstar.
“Yeah. When Mark first came up there, I realised he was going to be special and, if given the opportunity, and he was given the opportunity and he went along with it – we all know that – but I told him in the beginning that he was going to be a superstar, you know, that he would have that opportunity.”
Roberts went on to say how Undertaker, who credited Roberts for helping him out with advice regarding character work on Broken Skull Sessions, would be hand-picked by Vince McMahon to go a long way, but that he made the most of his opportunities.
“Vince picks who he wants and Vince picked Mark to go a long way, and he did. I’m happy for him, very happy for him.”
