WWE Hall Of Famer Jake Roberts is known to have one of the best minds in wrestling and a keen eye on character development, so it’s no surprise that Bray Wyatt has caught his attention.
Since returning to WWE in October last year, Wyatt has been adding elements to his persona, including heartfelt promos in the ring and adding further menace to his Firefly Fun House.
Roberts feels that it’s Bray Wyatt’s work on the microphone that has engaged fans and whilst speaking on the latest episode of The Snake Pit podcast, discussed what happened when the pair worked together.
“The one time we did get together, I gave him several ideas for some interviews and he used them! I have the utmost respect for him… Usually those transition things really suck, but his didn’t suck so bad because he took some time off to do it. And he made the people want to see him back.”
Jake Roberts Says Bray Wyatt Is “Freaking People Out”
According to Jake Roberts, for Bray Wyatt to succeed, he needs to be given the time to further develop his character.
Roberts added that the crowd reaction surrounding Wyatt, and his ability to make fans think “this is real”, brings something extra for WWE and hopes they invest further in the former Fiend.
“He’s freaking people out. Here this guy is putting this s*** together that makes you think, ‘F**k, this is real.’”
“Oh, Bray’s wonderful. He’s got a lot to do yet, hopefully, he’ll get enough room to let him do it.”
Bray Wyatt entered a feud with LA Knight following his comeback, leading to the first-ever Lights Out match at the Royal Rumble. Wyatt made a winning return, despite suffering an injury heading into the bout.
Bray Wyatt’s current WWE run has continued to split the fanbase. While some can’t wait to see what comes next, others have already reached the end of their patience with the star. Wyatt’s match at the Royal Rumble was heavily criticised by some online, and his cryptic promos have remained as divisive as ever.
